Looking for International Geophysical Work
The downturn in the Energy Industry has hit just about everyone, one way or another, especially in North America. I see that the International Market was not hit quite so hard. Does anyone know of any overseas Geophysical work going on that may need some help?

Hi Jeff: Thanks for posting to Jobcase! I suggest starting your job search by looking at US companies that have international outposts. See if they have any international opportunities on their websites, and what the legal requirements might be to work abroad. Let us know how it goes for you!

Hey Jeff,
When I was traveling, I met a two guys, one who was a geology major doing mining research in the Phillippines. Another had a PHD and he was doing work in Southern Australia.
I use to be an intern in Australia and I think Australia is a good place to work - high wages, lots of vacations. But it's expensive to live in. I don't know about the wages in the Philippines at an international company, but I know it's cheap to live in.

Also, you could look at jobs in the Middle East like Qatar and Dubai in the oil industry. I know an American Expat who works as a chemical engineer in Qatar, and he makes around $200k a year. Living in Qatar kind of sucks though, and it's really boring.
