Yes, Keith age descrimination is a big problem domestically and internationally, especially when you are over 60 years of age! But, remember you also possess a quality they do not have and that is experience! Just try to stay healthy. Althought most human beings begin to experience health problems once they are over 65 years of age! And this is a a fact! Also, remember that when one retires you become poor again. And recently, it has been stipulated that this Republican Administration have stolen billions of dollars from the Treasury Department contributed by all of us for over 30 years from our Social Security Retirement Benefits to allocate to entities such as Richy Rich FEMA and the Military! So, this is another MAKE AMERICA GREAT major problem if these Legislators attempt vote in favor of obolishing Social Security! If this accords all hell will hit the streets and these Oval Office basters are going to drawn in there stinking millionaire swamp! However, most of the time it depends on how valuable your; knowlegde, skills and abilities are required at your work place. I went ahead and retired at age 62 with over 20 years required to qualify for my for my retirement benefits from the Federal Government. Although, I had already been contributing to Social Security for over 43 years! In my position raciial descrimination and professional animosity, was a factor that made me retire after challenging my agency legally and spending a large sum of legal fees. But, I did not give a dam! Why not, because I fought them back intelligently, while they were acting like a bunch of Ass-Holes! They just under estimated me! Most of my colleagues thought I was crazy for challenging the Federal Government, but what they did not know was, I had for years been self employed as a Consultant performing duties and responsibilities not related to my actual Federal profession. Even if they had found out, none could touch me! The key to success is to get your future goals and objectives in perspective to work for your aspirations. To hell with everything else! Sooner or later they will realize that your professional accomplishments, should had been exploited differently in their favor. Something you had already contemplated when you made your decision to retire. If any of you should decide to go my way make sure you have established a great cliente both in government and private industry! Dont be stupid, utilize your former stakeholders commendations, experience and professional related skills. Eventually, they will realize how effective you were to complete their projects scope of work on schedule, well executed and cost effective! They will provide you with the necessary recomendations. If worst comes to worst and you intend to continue to be employed by a private enterprise, just take 10 to 20 years off your resume, its no bodies business any way. The majority of those who express to you animosity due to your age and most likely racial profiling are in this give me, give me capitalistic route, anyway! Finally, I was under the impression that age descrimination is legally not acceptable in our Judicial system! So, make sure you have evidance of this unacceptable legal crime. Good luck.
