I need to help her!!

My mom works so hard to support me and my brothers. I been thinking about ways I can help pay her back and also get myself on my feet after college. I know truckers make good money but I want to learn a little bit more before I make the leap. What do you wish someone had told you before you started trucking? Any advice??? Thanks for all of our help!!

Don't do it, I've been in trucking for 30 years. I made decent money in dollar amount. But i traded my time, it's not worth the sacrafice of your life. You miss so much of day to day life.

DON'T DO IT ! STAY IN SCHOOL AND GET A DEGREE! Become a doctor or lawyer or something and then you can repay moms by paying off all her debts and but her a new home or new cars or whatever !

The two-year degree has many NEEDS in society - I used to work for GM and they are automating driving - that's not going to be a good job unless you train to drive chemicals...maybe look into a trade such as a HVAC program (they make up to $60K/yr depending on where you are located) ???

Matt ,. I have a PhD , and 6 yr ago I found myself unable to get work ! Too educated. Go figure, so I got my CDL. Started trucking. Well, let me say. Some like it. Some need it. Other want to. I myself needed it. Money was ok. About 1000 aweek. But, it hurt home life for sure. Gone 5 plus days at time till I found a dedicated route. Out 4 home 3.1000 aweek. But. The stress was Hugh. Let me tell you. I still have my CDL. But I got a job as a project manager. Making same. Home every night. Off weekends. That's very important. Home this gives some insight. To. Your quest!

Be well .

Make sure you get in writing what they tell you!! Recruiters lie a lot and most companies keep there drivers out 3-4 weeks at a time!! Some company's like the one i work for get you home every weekend!! If you dont mind being alone at times its a good job!! If you have no experience then try going to a truck driving school!!

Quite a few of my friends drive and they make great money but make sure you get with a good company. Some really push those guys to drive while they are dead tired.
