Still no luck
Ive bee looking for a job now for a bit and car payment and rent it do soon i have no clue what im going to do i have applied at several jobs currently i am working as a licensed security officer atthis company and they put me as a flex guard i havnt worked in two weeks ...what am i going to do

Unfortuantely this situation is likely a result of where you live. In southern California, an armed LVL 2 officer makes an average of $14 an hour, with half the spectrum being $2 less or more. Their are jobs ALL over the place for this industry here. Medical dispensaries, casinos, event security, even most major malls want a rapid response officer available during peak hours, and they make roughly $26 an hour. It's insane how much the demand has outgrown the current level of candidates with appropriate skill sets.
Wish you the best with what is happening there.

I didn't read all of the responses. You're a level 2 guard, don't know what that means as I am in California, we don't have levels. Usually the difference in pay is based on armed versus unarmed and additional certifications. It also depends on what the client pays the security company. There are many guards here that make 10.50 and that's all they will make

Cody, I have worked in security and it's not a career unless you're in management. As the other commenter stated "try a temporary staffing agency", they may not have permanent work but chances of making more money will be there.

Cody, I feel your pain. It's been six months I've been looking in Houston. Not even the oil change places or quickie marts have given me a job. Most of my bills are in collection, and foreclosure looms in the near future. My resume(s) has(have) been sent to 2500+ online a board postings, 500+ mailings. Plus countless phone calls to HR departments and staffing agents. I have broadened my search every month and now scour 1/2 of the country every day. I'm not discouraged, I'm confused. The lowest unemployment rate in the country, and every job I apply to in Houston has many more applicants than I have ever seen, beating out even NYC and Chicago.

Try getting a job at a chicken plant...they are always hiring! They pay decent also. ($10.50 an hour and $1200 sign on bonus after 90 days.)

I know the feeling. Your not alone. I'm so close to welfare it's not even funny. I say another week and I'm there. Keep your head up.

Start your own security business

Hey Cody, have you tried talking to a staffing agency? They might be able to help you find a job in your area with your skills. It may be contracted work, but could last longer.
Hi. I live in Jax FL and have been looking for almost a year - so I feel your pain. I have over 20 years experience as a Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal and still nothing. Keep your head up and keep applying. Hopefully something will come through.
