Deli Clerk
I am a hard worker and have been with Kroger for a year now. Within the past week, I have witnessed totally unacceptable behavior mainly by management. They let slackers slide by and the people who give 150% get treated unfairly. I helped fellow coworker so much that I didn't get all of my tasks done and I got 3 write ups in a week for it which resulted in a two day suspension. For months, in watched the new people struggle to get everything done and fail and nothing happened, but for some reason I am the target now and they're all sabotaging me. The store manager, both assistant managers, a few coworkers and even my department head. I've called my union rep and he won't even call me. The district manager told me to call my union rep so I'm left with no choice but to quit or stick it out and transfer. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional in every aspect. I am disgusted by the Kroger Co.

Since your in a union all you have to do is show up on time and work. Upper management can't touch you. You don't have a union rep where you work? If you keep getting write ups that you don't deserve just threaten to turn them in for harassment. They should back off after that. Your union sounds like a joke though I'm sorry.

Hi Jessica, sorry you are not enjoying your worklife right now. I look forward to other Jobcasers suggestions on how to right the ship at Kroger, but I would suggest you direct your frustration-driven energy toward exploring other opportunities. It sounds like that particular environment is not a great match for you, and a conversation or attention is unlikely to change it. You come across as a driven and caring employee who wants to go the extra mile. I am sure there are a lot of other employers in the area who would welcome this and potentially reward more highly for it. At the very least, the exploration will give you a channel of productivity and positivity to drive your energy and help your attitude. Best case - new job. Worst case - you get info that the market might be tough to get a new job and that info could help you adjust your strategy internally too. Either way - I think you should start looking for an hour+ before or after work these days... just my 2 cents. I look forward to thoughts from other Jobcasers.....

Is there any other way for you to contact your representative?
Got my 2nd suspension from work yesterday for 6 days this time, for not staying past my 1:30-10p shift on Saturday 5/13/17 and finishing cleaning the back of deli... Happy mothers day to me huh.. I always do my job 150% but with Marsh closing right down the street, we got their business and got swamped and I also had to be back at 7am yesterday to open and had several chicken orders and two small children waiting for me at home. How is this possible?? I can't be made to stay past my shift and my union rep is aware of my current and first suspensions and hasn't done a thing for me in order to file a grievance against my now FIVE total bs write ups. I've talked to district managers, filed a report with HR and no one affiliated with the union will even call me back. Every night shift I have, I stay past 10pm and I always bust my butt. My department head manager is clearly sabotaging me left and right and the store manager and assistant managers all avoid me now.... There HAS to be something I can do to keep my job. Next step is termination and I shouldn't be forced to throw away my almost year and a half with Kroger because a bunch of morons run that store....
