TRY 72!
Unfortunately, after being semi-retired, I have to go back to work to be able to pay my rent! Try looking for a job at age 72! I have been trying now for 2 months and not one interview yet! I have an excellent resume of over 40 years in the computer industry, although I never go back further than 15 years on my 2 page resume. Nowadays, you can't even walk into a job agency without first applying via their website, and even then, you are at the mercy of some young thang who works at the agency and who decides if you are 'worthy' enough to bring in for a live interview! Then you have agencies such as Apple who just told me today they have NO temp jobs, while at the same time, I'm getting emails from their agency for open temp jobs! The jobs listed on Indeed, Monster, etc. all seem to be not real as no one ever responds to my resume and cover letter. I'm crying everyday job hunting!

Wow. That's tough! Externals resources are ways for companies to reach more applicants that they are looking for. I do agree job searching online is a headache and can sometimes feel like a waste of time, but when you finish applying. Wait for a few days and followup on your application.
