Wrongful termination?

I was recently fired for safety violations. I am a construction equipment mechanic and I accidentally swung an excavator bucket into a tool box costing the company 8 thousand in damages. It was documented but I was able to stay. My second incident I was towing a light tower and did not attach the hitch properly and the light tower came loose and rolled a few feet but did not cause any damage. I was written up for safety violation and warning that another incident could cause termination if serious enough. Well, my third incident was getting fuel in my eyes while servicing an engine, causing me to use the eye wash station. They did not document it and I did not sign anything but was terminated for too many safety violations. Did they have legal grounds to do so? Any advice would be great!

I work as a Industrial equipment mechanic as well , my employer has fired a few people for less. The property damage of 8k , would have been an immediate firing at workplace. Sorry to hear that, hope you find work soon.

Hi John. Sorry about the termination. What does OSHA or the company Health and Safety manual say about wearing safety goggles when working with flammable or solvents? I used to work in a lab and eye protection was MANDATORY. We worked with flammable and solvents. If eye protection is described in or the other (or both) i don't believe you have a case. Sorry.
