4 interviews?

I recently recently turned down for a position after 4 interviews. I met with the General Manager, Corporate Regional Director of Operations, and twice with the Corporate Director of Operations. The first 2 interviews went great and was told I would be a great fit. The last 2 were with the Corporate Director of Operations. The first was a phone interview and the second was face to face. Not to mention, during the last interview, I brought a few items I created to show how I could make an impact on their needs. When I was not selected, I emailed the GM and asked what was the reason. This is the answer I was given. "Although frustrating, you didn't show the passion in the last interview as you did from the first 3. The pay was lower than you needed for the drive you would have to make." Shouldn't I be able to make that decision?"

Electronics Field Technician at Southern Folger Detention Equipment Company

Not sure what type of work you are looking for or a salary, but I do know the company I work for is looking for a regional sales manager. It is not typical work, we do detention equipment for jails, prisons, and mental institutions. I am a field tech myself for the company and specialize in electronics. The biggest advantage is being able to work from home as the company is located in San Antonio and I myself live in Gardner.

Yes sir. But atleast you got a respond. After great interviews & answering questions based on my experience directly related to said responsibilities I've been told they were looking for a different fit. When I politely send messages requesting a specific explanation of the fit there was no response. It works both ways though. I've been offered multiple positions that I wasn't even looking for. Stay true to yourself. You know your worth. God will provide.

Really???? If it came down to the pay, why wouldn't they be able to decide that after the first 1 or 2 interviews?

Talent Acquisition / Recruiting

Hi Patrick,

That's a tough break, after 4 rounds of interviewing it's never easy to hear that. I agree that it should be your decision on how far you would be traveling, but maybe they thought that based on your commute/pay, you could be a potential flight-risk if you found something better. I'm just trying to put myself in their shoes. Keep your head up and continue interviewing while putting your best foot forward, I'm sure you will find the right fit very soon!

Best of luck,

Mark
