Am I going to get the drug test and background check results at the event or will I have to wait to know if I’ll get hired? I don’t have any issues with either but I have a couple of other interviews set up early next week that may want me to start right away if I get job offers. Amazon has better benefits and advancement opportunities so I definitely prefer to work there.

I live in california and i can honestly say that having a felony on your record is the most fucked up shit you can have cause alot of employer's will flat out deny you. So what do one do support his self and family? For 6 years i thought of the stupid mistake i made since then i have turned my life around completely , at times cause the feeling is unbearable , depression is setting in . physically and emotionally scarred.

The only time I've ever had to take a drug test for employment was when I was interviewing to work in a bank. I've never ever had to take one since. You might have to drug test if you are applying for government jobs as well.

Yes they will eventually email you the results. Make sure you check your spam folders as well. However I wouldn't turn down other interviews or job offers because the hiring process at Amazon is , or was for me in my experience a bit slow but they do follow through with what they say. I'm assuming you are talking about the Amazon hiring event and applying on the amazon force jobs site, for a job at a fulfillment center so if that's not a correct assumption there could be a different process. Anyhow, you should receive an email or paperwork that had the information and name of the background check company. They used Accurate Background for my bg check and I contacted them to obtain a copy of my report, which had some incorrect info, so I corrected it. Nothing major just an address that never belonged to me. If you can't afford to wait a month to possibly 3 months to start working then I would definitely follow through with the other interviews and offers in the meantime because you can always quit those if you decide to when Amazon finally does get to the final stage and set your start date and new hire orientation which is not the hiring event, the orientation comes much later depending on the order they choose to hire applicants in. I'm thinking it could very well be alphabetical lol because I was the last of the small group at the hiring event to finally start working i think.

Many companies extend job offers conditionally on successful completion of background checks and drug screen. It is ideal for a job seeker to continue to search until actually starting a new job.

I’ve learned if it’s a job event nd they request you to take a drug screen it’s a definite good sign you have the job

The drug test will take about 2 workdays for results. As for the background check, as long as you are open and honest, you should do just fine.
