Shame on them
So finally after over 9 months I got a job, however though getting this job and the background check that came with it basically told why I haven't been selected for the hundreds of I have applied for. You see, come to find out a certain company I had once worked for is saying a different thing than I was actually hired for. Shame on them, I will now seek legal council and begin to fix my reputation as a "liar" as they made me look like. Words of advice, make time to do an employment verification check on yourself prior to seeking employment elsewhere. By doing so will tell you a lot of what the other companies you have worked for is saying about you. Missing your employment hire date is not as a big of a deal as your "title" was working for that organization. Please make sure you understand when you depart from a company that you have your title correct and confirmed. I did not do that and has prevented me from getting the type of employment I was seeking. As far as age discrimination, don't give up and follow my instructions. You will succeed and you will land that job you want.

I am glad you found this out stupid company they forget they can't lie the only thing they can say yes she showed up did job if you missed days with out calling in.thats it I will pray for you I hope your attorney cleans there clock

With the labor surplus that we're experiencing, employers have become "rejection-happy". Yet, a hiring manager should (nothing says they must) point out the red flags so that you can correct or appeal them. And that title flag is iffy at best. Positions are constantly renamed and reclassified, not to mention that HR calls it one thing, the supervisor abbreviates it another, and the workers nickname a third. Same applies with the staffing agency, the client, and the customer when it comes to contract work.

Thanks for the information!

I did the verification check through a reputable company and previous employers stated only the basic answers. Still searching for a great employer.

Go to a legal council and tell about what had happened to you so the situation can be straight forward plus let go. As for employment verification procedures, they are expensive and sometime they provide the most recent results. They're hard to come by but the verification procedures work.

Good luck, Terry! Wishing you all the success in your lawsuit and in finding better employment! Keep us posted!

I honestly feel this is becoming an issue ! I've counted ten reviews just in an hour and no one call .. i think we need to get a petition from all applicants that have applied hundreds of apps and go big on ABC news and officialize no results on interviews or hires on these job sites how many do you got to apply for before you end up in the streets.. I'm ready any one wants to give me an amen and let's do this !

Excellent advice.. We should all heed the voice of reason. If we know going in what they will find, you're in a position of power instead of being blindsided.

I've got to thinking ,over what my son commented over the week end .... He told me do you believe everything you read on the inter net and called me a sucker... Lol now for two weeks I have applied and applied every application I've signed up for , and I got a lot of replies back that so and so reviewed my applications ...lol so okay they reviewed me and I've submitted over kid you not " like seventy application s ...lol is this a joke on me ? Lol where are the phone calls that you've been reviewed from lol REALLY !!! NOT A ONE !!!has called me ... So mean time aside of applying I'm dealing with collectors phone calls to pay up my bills and to think of excuses of what shall I say ,to them ... And all my motivations of on end of trying on the last of my Witt's to accomplish a job interview with close to in the two weeks over a hundred apps and not a one phone call ... This is food for thought maybe I'm just getting the run around lol and wasting my time? What to believe ? I am starting to see I'm unveiling the truth of yes I'm an idiot lol ..
Good advise. How do I do a self-employment check?
