Math Teacher switching careers
Hello, I'm a math teacher of 10 years with a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering degree. I have gained a lot of professional experience and skills through 10 years of teaching that I would like expand on with another career. I'm a very motivated and passionate individual that wants to make a difference for a company and their coworkers. I am open to most career avenues, but want to continue to learn and be challenged.

Hi Keith Tracy past educator here! Luckily there are so many things you can do with a teaching background. Here are some [ideas] (https://www.trade-schools.net/articles/jobs-for-former-teachers.asp) to get you started as well as some [tips] (https://www.jobcase.com/conversations/a5073517-c2cd-5d9e-913b-5dae6e88f188) on how to transfer your current skills into a new career. I am wishing you the best! When all else fails, take some time and research what interests you!

Hi Keith Tracy , I'm sure there are a lot of companies non-profit and for-profit that would benefit from your education experience. I would, however, suggest that you do a little more soul searching and try to narrow down an industry or list of specific job roles that meet your present career interests. You will find employers that are interested in your work background and experiences but not willing to do all the work needed to figure out where you would make a good fit.
Free online career development tools like the Department of Labors My Next Move are excellent resources to help you identify new career paths. Good Luck Keith Tracy
