Time for change
Marketing yourself has changed forever. No longer can you introduce yourself and have a two way conversation resulting at some point in employment. If you're young, you need credentials and or experience. If your not so young, you need a real good reason why you're applying for a meanial job if you're worth a crap, and a clean criminal record, clean credit record, clean driving record, business references, experience in that field, all to make $10.hr. which you can't live anywhere on.

Yes, the way we apply to jobs HAS changed, but our attitudes shouldn't. My friend met someone on a train one day and the next thing you knew she had an interview and then a job. Being able to communicate with others is so, so, SO important. So you're wrong. Being young or old doesn't matter. Are you the best person for the job and can you sell it? That's what is worth a damn.
