Getting fustrated.
Hi, I never had a job at my teenage years. I couldn't because I had a single mother and I'm now 20 turning 21 finally soon and now finally have my own transportation to take me to places. I been trying to get a job but most jobs won't accept me from not having any experience please help! Any tips? Any advice? #job #help

All I can say is that one has to keep trying and maybe fill out as many applications to as many employers as you possibly can in the time you have on internet. Maybe even to jobs you never thought of barring topless bars of course. And jobs that seem too good to be true.

Keep trying. Dress well do not take your mother along when you interview. Talk less not more , be friendly and cheerful.Do not over dress or say how great you might be.Take your High Schoo; GPA with you. You should be able to call your HS for your gpa Good luck.

Hi Donna Monge First of all, yay for getting your own transportation! As far as a 'first employer' goes, I don't think you can top Chick Fil A. I encourage you to go by at a non-busy time and introduce yourself to the manager. Here is their website where you can apply too. All the best to you and your family. https://www.chick-fil-a.com/careers

Donna,
You may also want to check this out. I believe this is a national organization. Just click the link and search to see where the opportunity is in your area.
They specifically state young adults.

I understand your frustration. Unfortunately, I am on the other side of the spectrum...loss of job (downsizing) and older.
I am sure you will find something soon.

Hi Dawn. Usually fast food restaurants hire without previous experience. It may not be what you are looking for, but it'll be a start, which will provide experience on a resume. I had the same issue, started at Burger King Corp., became an Assistant Manager, lasted 10 yrs, and moved on to coordinor's position and then directorhip. Good luck.

It all depends what type of job you’re looking for if you wanna work in the medical field as a receptionist you need experience. Mostly all media jobs require a lot of experience. You’re better off starting in retail and working your way up you can become a manager down the road after working retail so long. The only way to get into the medical field is by going to school for billing and coding or medical assistant been down this road before

Just look at it like it's your first job if you were a teenager! In any event, you have to start at the bottom and work your way up! If you are motivated and ambitious, you'll have a great future ahead of you! You can also go to community college to round out your employability. God bless you in your future endeavors!

Hi Donna Monge - I think it’s awesome that you are actively seeking a job!
Here are a few things I suggest you do.
• Stop by and apply in person or online with local grocery stores, movie theaters, fast food restaurants such as [McDonald’s] (https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/careers.html), [Burger King] (https://www.bk.com/careers/), [Sonic] (https://jobs.sonicdrivein.com/), community programs, and retail stores such as [Walmart] (https://careers.walmart.com/), [Family Dollar] (https://www.familydollar.com/corporate/careers), [Walgreens] (https://jobs.walgreens.com/).
You can also use these steps to search for a job opportunity at any time.
1. Click on Jobs & Companies at the top of the page, or head over [here] (http://www.jobcase.com/jobs/search).
2. Enter a job into the search field where it says Job Title, Keywords, or Company. Your search, for example, could be for “cashier,” “tutor,” “server,” etc. Think about what you want to do and type it in!
3. Add in your location by filling in your City and State OR zip code. Then click the magnifying glass to search.
4. Once the list is up, click on “View Job" of any you are interested in and then apply.
Wishing you the best of luck!

US Post Office jobs require no experience. Give that a try, it will not hurt a bit.
