I looked at your profile here and noticed you are in Columbia, MD. I used to live there in the Owen Brown village.

Columbia is close to major technology corridors such as in DC and Northern VA. If you are looking to break into IT then start looking there. (495 is a nightmare though)

Look for jobs with titles such as IT coordinator, IT Business Analyst, IT Implementation Consultant. Being that close to the capitol and VA, your veteran status should work in your favor.

I am not 100% sure how skilled you are in IT functions. Make sure your resume speaks to these things, strongly. I know Sirius XM is in DC and they might be hiring for multiple IT positions. Check with them if you want to travel to DC for work.

Basically, ensure your resume is up to date and speaks to the jobs you are trying to get. Have multiple resumes that speak to the strengths for the markets to which you are applying. One for IT, one for program management/administration, etc...
