Dream job...Sorta...

I had been a waitress, server, cook at restaurants since I was a kid. One day I stumbled across the perfect opportunity and was able to achieve my dream of owning my own restaurant 3 years later my husband and business partner died suddenly from a heart attack. We were 45 and 38 and the kids were 10, 12, 15 and 16 years of age. I closed for a couple months and reopened it for about a year but it wasn't the same without Him. I closed it about 14 months after he passed. I worked again in the restaurants but I didnt have the passion for it anymore. One day I decided to completely change careers. I just started a job in retail and I love it!! If you're stuck in a rut, take a chance and switch up your game. So many of our skills will translate to other careers. You have value, and more skill than you know... Dont stay in the rut. God Bless, Naomi G ********

Carpenter at Bacon Builders

Thank's I have been a carpenter for many years and recently had knee replacement surgery, and I'm thinking about doing the same, since the wear and tear on the body would be to much.

I don't know you Robin, but I am so sorry for the loss that you had it's never easy to Face Reality after a loved one has passed on or did you go into the job that both the views worked and earned. You do have four children that you are the sole survivor and caretaker for them I hope all works out with your restaurant and your family.

Naomi, your story is such an inspiration and I am so sorry for your horrendous loss. I admire and respect you for NOT playing the victim like so many posters do in this community and by recognizing that your value & worth translate into other industries when you lost the passion for yours. Keep your head held high dear lady and keep plugging away. God bless you!
