What u need to know about working for UPS
In order to become a UPS driver, you must be physically fit enough to lift up to 150 pounds (or at least move it), stand for a long time, lift and lower stuff throughout the day, drive a vehicle for hours on end, and pass a DOT physical. People have HEAVY things delivered and you never know what will end up on your truck. The hours can be long, but I make 68,000 a year which is good for me and my family. They have standards too like any company on appearance. I have to cover up my neck and leg tattoos up every day. No big. It's my choice to work there and gotta play by the rules.I am just glad I am working.

Youre cool they pay well but work the crap out of you.

My son has worked there for 7+ years now and you are absolutely 100%right!! The hours are very demanding especially during peak season but the pay is great and his medical benefits are amazing!!!

I'm a preloader and can definitely say loaders and drivers have to move up to 200 pounds on occasion

Totally informed on the job descriptions and physical specifications, residing in the 23320 zip code and geographic designation, what should I do to enhance employability?

Thanks for the information

Mi actual trabajo es fuerte, así que pueden contar conmigo para levantar pesos

YO quiero ser también chófer pero tengo hernia y NO puedo llevantar pesado

Don't waste your time! This place is a total dump! People are miserable and the company hires supervisors off the street to harass and intimidate their hourly workers. Everyone works for the shareholders. Its an awful and dangerous environment.

I would love to work for UPS. I've tried in the past but never got on.
This is very useful information for those considering working at UPS. Thank you for sharing!
