Assistant Manager at Family Dollar Stores

My response with this and lifelong experiences with both retail and other employment is simply this: number one is show your value to the team and the company in helping them fulfill company objectives and goals on a day-to-day basis. Number two is make sure you show up. That is a big problem with employees these days. Differentiate yourself by making a commitment to your company each and every day that you are assigned for work. And number three is document a change in your situation or your experience and education that gives you firm ground to stand on when telling your company that you are worth more today than you were yesterday, and that going forward you will continue to be worth more and valued member of the team. On that last note, take advantage of family Dollar training courses and community college courses or any additional education, even if it is ongoing, to demonstrate that you are committed to being a better team member and someone who can in the future be considered for upper management and executive positions. The sky is the limit with a great company like family Dollar that makes sure that their employees are rewarded for putting in the time and effort on behalf of the team. You may even consider getting involved in charity events sponsored by the company on your free time. These are fun experiences that get back to the community and let your employees know that you're not just showing up for work for a paycheck but that you genuinely invest yourself and your time and energy into the values that have been established by family Dollar. You have to remember that it is your job to put the family and family Dollar and make that your goal and the rest will come.

When asking for a higher salary at Family Dollar, it's important to approach the conversation professionally and be prepared to discuss your contributions to the company, any additional skills or responsibilities you have taken on, and how your performance has exceeded expectations. Consider researching salary ranges for your role in the retail industry to support your request. Make sure to also highlight your dedication to the company and your desire to continue growing with them. Remember to be confident and respectful during the discussion. If you need further assistance in negotiating your salary or exploring other job opportunities, I recommend utilizing resources like Jobcase, Glassdoor, or Indeed to gain insights and support in your job search.
