Up a creek...?

I received a Master's in Education and one in non profit management back in 2011. Since then I have focused on education. As a result, I have very little back office non profit experience.

In addition to networking, I need to fix my resume to reflect my transferable skills, however, I can't afford the hundreds of dollars it costs for a professional.

Anyone have suggestions or leads?

When I initially became vice president of a friends transitional housing Non-Profit for homeless families in a neighboring city, there was a very resourceful Nolo book that walked you through the entire 501c3 process. As for the resume, generally they are very easy to make and a simple template for Google Docs should suffice.

Start by volunteering with a non-profit. Many small np's are in desperate need of help with fundraising and event planning to name just a few needs.

I recommend putting the skills that you have on Linked in, then start own 501 C3 from scratch. You already have talent, then you can build you a team that already have that. You would need the hr skill set to pull it off. Delegate your way up to experience.

YOu can do it yourself Jonathan!! Go to a website that has examples of resumes and use the format and some of the wording. Also look up a job description of a job you want and the job you were doing and use this also for the same thing... I have a feeling you will come up with something wonderful..... I dont have money for a expert either. IF we did we wouldn't need a job that bad!! lol
