Terminated while on medical leave
Hello everyone I have a question I live in Tennessee and worked at Amazon, I started a medical leave in may, in June I was terminated. My Dr released me to return back to work in Aug. The leave of absence team also released me. But now I am still terminated and can't work for Amazon for a year.. my question is how can I be terminated while on an approved medical leave..

How long were you employed by Amazon? There's an "hours worked" requirement for FMLA. Not sure what it is now.

Did you fill out the medical leave act papers? If so, and the company has more than 50 employees, it is a federal case. Contact The labor dept on the federal level. I'm not a lawyer, but was done the same way by a smaller company. Good luck!!

They terminated me for no particular reason whatsoever. Of course, where I live is an "at will employment" state, and I was a contractor.... The short answer is if you were on legit FMLA, you may have a serious cause for a lawsuit. I'd talk to a lawyer.
Because they needed to fill your position and the person hired or who replaced you did the job with greater efficiency? If u reside in an at will state then there is nothing you can do besides search for another job. Care.com, rover.com, doordash. Com and Careerbuilder. Com
