Senior Process Executive at Cognizant Technology Solutions Inc

Immigrant

I migrated in the United States last December 2017 and I am a green card holder.

My previous job experiences were from the Philippines, I’ve been submitting applications online for almost 3 months now since I got here and I only had a few phone interviews.

I probably submitted 200 applications online by now but I don’t usually get a feedback.

I am not picky and tried applying from Full time to contractual / temporary positions. I also make sure to target positions that I know, I will be a good fit.

I’m thinking maybe companies simply prefer applicants who graduated in Universities in the US and worked for US based companies.

What do you think?

So anyway, I am still here, actively seeking for job opportunities and would need a little help.

—————————————- If you have any contacts in California, preferably in San Luis Obispo but will consider any other cities, please do let me know.

Has worked on different testing levels such as functional, integration, end to end system, smoke, regression and user acceptance. Familiar in SDLC particularly in Agile processes.

If you need more information, you can check my profile and please don’t hesitate to send me a message.

Please share this with your recruiter friends in California, i would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Simon, I understand your concern but try not to marginalize yourself because your not a native or because you haven't attained a US education. Good employers, the kind I'm sure you want to work for do not base their hiring practices around those criterias.

In fact, you look like an over-qualified applicant based on the work history and education I noticed on your profile. Finding a job is often referred to as a numbers game. The number of applications you’re sending out is not uncommon and our getting call backs for phone interviews so you know employers are interested. Keep plugging away at job openings with absolute confidence you application will be well received and fairly evaluated.
