The most frustrating thing about applying for jobs in today’s market via Apps
I am an entrepreneur and have been self employed for the better part of 20 years intermittently with more traditional employment. I have had many ventures some successful some not as much and such a variety of skills and applicable experience that it’s frankly too much to list on a resume. I am currently a Real Estate agent for 5 years but looking for position in a related field that has more stability. The types of jobs I’m applying I feel i’m def qualified for and could basically do on autopilot. This is the first time in my life ( I’m 40) that i’ve ever used apps to apply and I have applied for 20+ positions such as leasing agent and assistant property managers for apartments. Some never view my resume and some view but then nothing. It’s frustrating that they are not required to give feedback so I know why I’m not getting calls or emails. Is it my skills? My resume ? did i put the wrong email is my app working right ? lol Seriously my husband applies for a job for me on his desktop under his account and I get a call for an interview within 45 min. Gosh I miss the old days ... I want to break up with technology sometimes .. “ It’s not you... It’s me.. “ Or is it .. I don’t know. Requiring feedback to applicants from employers should be a condition of posting on these sites with apps etc.

Hi Jenna! I know it's terrible not to hear back sometimes! Are you making sure to [follow up] (https://www.jobcase.com/conversations/3a2695c7-ced7-5bea-af4e-8789f758e97b)? You can also ask the recruiter or hiring manager for feedback after your interview to see how you can improve! Best of luck. Don't give up!!
Jenna, unfortunately companies are missing out on qualified candidates because of scanning application technologies. Many companies are using scanners such as ATS to review applications. In this case they look for certain key words to best match a candidate for the position. Most likely the HRM or a recruiter will not call you back because it is no longer part of the hiring process. I recently had my resume reviewed and rewritten by a highly recommended company. Unfortunately, it was only a little help in the process. I would suggest that you find out what key words that software scanners looking for in your filed to give you a better opportunity. I hope this helps!
