Experience Pays

Having little to no experience in any given field can usually get you precisely nowhere in the way of employment. Too often, for lack of better phrasing, naturally gifted individuals are turned down for the more experienced hand. Having a background in any career is certainly preferable; however, in many cases, these hands are full of shit. Higher pay comes with experience, but with experience comes comfortability. If a seasoned worker makes a mistake, it's overlooked and chalked up to repetition. If a new guy on the job messes up, it's chalked up to inexperience. So, where is the divide? If a mistake is made at a similar rate among experienced and inexperienced hands, why not go for the one you pay less and have for longer? A 21 year old will die or retire long after a 45 year old. Speed and efficiency are key to any job, but how do you decide which one is more important? The answer: experience.

Hard Worker

Dustin Ford I see your point but many will argue that employees with tenure and seniority should be entitled to more benefits and accommodation. I mean, wouldn't you want the same after 20 plus year on the same job? So who's right?
