I am Midlife Career Changer seeking a professional salary. It is very difficult to be able to afford the very high Cost of Living in Denver. The average rent is $1400 a month and to quality, some places are requiring that your salary is 3 to 4 times the rent in addition to paying first and last month's rent to move in. Landlords are very greedy around here. Homelessness seems inevitable unless you work two or more jobs if you are paid by the hour, have roommates (which can turn out to be a nightmare!) or you are certified as a Specialist in some type of career. Simply having a degree is no guarantee that you can land a $60,000 salary. Therefore, seeking some type of certification program seems like the next logical step if you want to lead a normal life were you have left over income to have a live! Does anyone know of short term programs that lead to professional income?
