$685 Invoice
I live an hour away from work and rely on my car to get there...last week i was told it won't pass inspection...there is no public transportation near by I can use to commute back and forth to work during my work schedule. I can’t afford to pay the $685 dollars in repairs it’s going to take to get my car fixed so it can pass inspection. I'm afraid my boss will fire me if he finds out I need time off to figure out my transportation problem....has anyone else been in this situation??
What type of inspection? If you are talking smog, find out what your local and STATE federal laws have in place. California offers financial help for business individuals with faulty or old cars that need repairs for passing smog inspections. Compensation for old vehicles are also available through DMV where you get top dollar for junking it.

yes but I always had a plan b Uber got me to work and back home until my ride was fixed give them a try and some cab companies have low monthly rates for situation like this. Blessings.

I got cut off. If the car id over 30yrs it doesn't have to pssd the smog. I hsve s 75 El Camino -' no smog test. IF NOT, get a waiver ftom the DMV while you figure out a way to pay for the rrepairs. Worst vomrs to worst, you drive it with expired tags for 2 or 3 mths whilr you save up. You wouldn"t be the 1st one 2 do that. The registration eill ho ip gor payiing late, snd you migjt get a 'Fix it ticket if pulled over. It's happened 2 allot of people. Just ask 4.an adv on your salary. Who fo you wrk4 Scrudge? And while you still do have a job, start looking 4 another one closer to home and/or on a bus rout. Your ptoblem is alot dimpler than mine: No job, no job snd a 60 day "no cause" eviction with only about 40 days away.

I would recommend against a payday advance, unless you actually get it from your work. Payday advance companies make it so difficult to get out of them. This should be the absolute last resort
Be forthright eith your boss. Explain how yoi don't want to lose your job. Ask if HR has a ride-share program in effect or if an emergency advance would be possible Go to a payday advabce place to get $4 a partial payment on repairs. You could also try to convince the garage to do the work and get paid back in installments directly from your paycheck. Your accounting/payroll dept should be able to do that. Hood luck
Really this is worst option out there but I have been in your situation and when your out of options this might be a short term solution. If you have been investing in the retirement plan at work go to your boss/hr and ask if they have the option to borrow from your retirement fund. That Money is yours and you will have to repay it. Most employers off a payback option through payroll deduction. Be honest with your Employer and see if they have any other options for you. Sometimes they have a short term no interest loan option as well. Hang in there! Sending you positive prayers for the best outcome.
Well at least you have transportation but I would be honest and state your situation just out of respect simply because they have a buisness to run. May some of your co workers can help if you just ask.
