Remote Graphic Designer

Freelancer?

Hi guys! I’m a 40 years old guy, With 16 years of advertising agency experience, as a Creative Director, Art Director and Senior Graphic Designer... Now a freelance designer, Too old (Many ad agencies have told me this). Or over qualifited, So, It's so hard to find a job now, even when i have a great experience or knowledge.

My last job in an ad agency it was very scary, As an Art Director, a requisit of my job, It was to park my car far from the agency to stay longer and to stay focus... With out the idea of going home at the end of the day, or at any time. If i wanted to make a phone call, I needed to ride a bike and talk in front of all, if not, I was becuase i was hiding something... (literal words from my ex-boss) And many etc.

So, i decided to run as a freelance, Is not an easy way, but at the end of the day, I'm relax, money can be worse or better, but sometimes is the best option. Don't take freelancers as bad and rebel elements, the majority are very good and professional workers! Take it as an option!

Director, Creative Services

Stay driven, Oscar! I’ve been in the design industry a while myself and freelancing can be very rewarding if full-time in-house opportunities aren’t working out for you. In my experience, you get out of it what you put in. Network, price your services competitively and be sure to stay up on the latest tech and trends in the industry and I bet you’ll find the comfort you're looking for. Above all, though, stay positive and believe in yourself!
