Years of experience but no degree
I was at a company for 19 years. I was promoted many times within this organization. I was laid off after 19 years of service. Although I have lots of knowledge in the health insurance industry. Due to me not having a degree I am having trouble finding work. These days you have to have that piece of paper to be relevant. I will be starting back to school next month but I still need a job in the meantime. But I’m also over qualified for the simple customer service jobs that would hold me over until I finish school. Does anyone have any advise?

Tina - I'm sorry to hear you were laid off from your job of 19 years. Did your company offer to help you find another job? Who was your companys competition, I would send my resume to them, check out their job board. I know you may not want to take low right now, I wouldn't either, but you gotta market yourself. You may lack the education but more than make it up in experience. Make sure your resume shows your promotions. Im late in offering a thought on this issue and I am hoping that you've had some luck getting interviews. Also try going through Employment agencies, most are set up to do direct hire and temp work, and they may be able to help you get the job you are looking for for the money you deserve. All the best to you, and I'm glad you are going back to school!

Sounds like you could try Humana, or Recruiting firms with that vast experience. Or start your own business. Google it and research it...

Hi Tina! Your experience is never wasted and can help you land a job even without a degree. Check out [this article] (http://www.businessinsider.com/high-paying-jobs-you-can-get-without-a-college-degree-2015-11) and do a little research to see what it is you want to move towards. You absolutely can also go back to school if that is what you want!

Hi Tina, I work in the Healthcare Industry. What is your background? I may be able to help. Send me a message so I can give you more information.
