Hard to find a Job Here

Gm everyone. Now I just moved here from Tennessee almost 2 weeks ago.We are originally from Chicago. I moved here because my husband felt that Vegas is a great place to live & good jobs here. I didn't want to move here because I was comfortable with my job and my surroundings in TN. Since I been here, I have met a lot of rude people. But I'm trying to look pass that. I have a family to take care of. The moral of comment, why is it so hard to get a Server job? I have went on 3 job interviews. The 2nd I could have but the hours of training is from 9:30 - 3:30 maybe 4. The shift I will be working would be 4p.m. I can't do the training bcuz I still have a 16mo old and a 4 yr old that have to be @ school 12:30. Yesterday I went on a interview for another serving job & hopefully I get called back for the 2nd interview. The 1st job had me to drive all the way to Summerlin which is 45min away from just for her to tell me "Oh I'm looking for Open Availability " lady u have my resume & application in front of u. When u called me the night before u could've asked me, but dnt have me driving that far for abt 2min to tell me that. I have been filling out applications & submitting my Resume. Could anyone help me find a Serving job? Plz

Good afternoon Lady Kristy,

Can you do one thing for me, a humble stranger? I want you to close your eyes, imagine yourself in your happy place, imagine listening to your favorite sounds and music that makes you happy, and imagine all of the ideas, things, and people who make you happy....

Smile....

Your objective is to transport this ideal environment into the world you live in. Make this place your home filled with family, friends, hospitality, joy, hope, positivity, optimism, and freedom. Even Rome was not created overnight, but you can sure build it one stone at a time.

Lady Kristy, you are a remarkable lady with over 15 years of experience in customer service, accountability, responsibility, drive, passion, and discipline...You're leading the rule for for The Encore Effect!

No one knows you and your family than you. You know how to take care of your family the best that you know best...Through Love.

In addition, you possess the tenacity and courage that's legendary and magnificent to those reading your post. With all of these pressures, trials, and tribulations, you equally meet these challenges with Faith, Hope, and Love. Your indomitable spirit fueled with passion, drive, and attitude leaves a trail of testimony for others to witness. After you secure your job, you will shine like a priceless diamond. Even a diamond has to start off as coal. Through pressure and heat tested over time, the coal transforms into a magnificent diamond...hard, indomitable, and priceless.

It's human nature to be change adverse, and we tend to gravitate to the path of least resistance. Be strong, keep striving, keep moving, and never quit.

Hmmmm.... It's nearly impossible to defeat a lady who never quits.

Please email me your resume and I'll help you get set up for a job.

Smile....

If you have any interest in jobs you can do at home on a computer. Look on Flexjobs.com or VirtualVocations.com or you can look for jobs on LinkedIn or Monster.

My Responsibilities at Teletech Call Center

Did your husband accept a job promotion there? Or is there a family business there that he was offered a position? Or did he just feel like Vegas is a great place to live type attitude? What I am trying to say is if he is not employed or just don't want to work then he should be the one to do the family run around. Sorry for the bluntness Kristy but to me it sounds like a put down on your children for you guys to make such an uncertain move. Good Luck though and be strong. What's done is done.

That's a tough question, for me to answer. You said you have a 16 month old child, which you probably have to put in day care, which would take everything you make,to pay for. If your husband has a decent job, then you may have to wait until your youngest child,is in school, before you find employment. I'm no expert on this type of question. But,hopefully it's good advice. Good luck and God bless

I'm not sure your age but I'm 48 yrs old (don't look like it)and I've been server for 26 yrs also retail for 10 years ,I get discriminated due to my age when I try to apply for server jobs,I've had many interview different job titles but yet ZERO offers just run around waisting my time ,when I try to apply fast food as a last resort I get looked over like I'm such a bad disease. They are looking for the young ones that don't care about their job much less with no experience instead of hiring me with LOT of experience and in return these places ratings go down due to Cust service ,servers not doing their job and taking care of guest etc.I got asked before if I had own a restaurant what I would look for in hiring staff ,I said EXPERIENCE AND COMMITMENT but I would hire also based on intergrity over the ones with the blonde big boobs that will not commit to giving guest satisfaction ,I understand you have to start somewhere and learn in order to grow but I would make sure I would hire the very best skilled employees first .Im still quite qualified with multitasking ,fast paced skills and care about the guest but this does not matter to the ones hiring ,so join the "STILL UNEMPLOYED CLUB "good luck to you here in NC they only care about your age and not your experience .
