Son of a....
Anyone else ever been the victim of a he said/she said argument at work? I work as a driver and a customer of mine accused me of driving drunk, when I clearly was not. She just was the worst backseat driver ever. My employer is taking the customer's side, and it's really destroyed my ability to earn money for my family.

I am sorry to hear that this happened to you. I would recommend that you first check and see if the company you work for has any written policies and procedures for this type of situation and how to handle them. If so did your boss follow that policy? If not then I would print out a copy of it and also if you have not had complaints from other customers for the same thing, I would email your boss so what u say is in writing with the date and explain to them that one the accusations were not true, that u have never had any other customers make complaints about this in the past, and that they did not follow the policy ( copy and paste the policy to the email) and that if given the opportunity you would have been more than willing to take either a drug test or fitness of duty exam to prove your innocence but that option was not offered. Also that u are still willing to take a test if they would like even though alcohol will only show up for 72/hours. I would stay positive and try not to be blaming anyone explain that u do understand that they have to take these complaints serious and follow up but that if there would have been a proper investigation that they would have seen that you were telling the truth and that u feel that it is unfair to be punished for something that u did not do and were not even given the opportunity to prove it. If your boss continues to not work with u then I would go over their heads to their boss and explain the situation. Tell them u tried to work it out with your boss but they are not willing to work with u. Have a copy of the email u sent as well as a copy of the policy and then it shows that u attempted to follow the chain of commands and were and are willing to take a drug test to prove yourself. Again you may want to do this in the form of an email so u have it in writing. If again they continue to refuse to work with u then I would talk with a lawyer just to see what your rights were. And look for a new job at a company that backs up their employees and treats them with respect and dignity. Good luck.

As a manager...I ask you...did your manager ask for a alcohol screen so you can prove you were not under the influence cuz documentation is your best defense. Your boss is a dick for not having your back without proof. Quit now before a firing ruins you.

It's shame that your Employer didn't have your back and you couldn't produce a blood alcohol to prove your innocence. I would move on too.

then he should have sent you for a breathalyzer I would think if there is THAT much belief. I don't know what reasons the customer had to say that- whether your eyes were red, or you were tired.....but i'd call them on the NOT sending you for a breathalyzer then.

You need to look for another job don't quit until you find another job but you definitely need to seek better employment.

I think that is totally unfair. If you had other customers all day and just before her why would they believe her if you had no other complaints. While working you are constantly accepting fares. So why couldn't they use common sense to know that you just finished a fair and now this disgruntled person is complaining. They need to support us more

were you tested for alcohol in your system within 12hrs of the report. if not then there's no just reason for the reduction of hours or even termination if that was the case.

If you were accused of being drunk the manager was supposed to immediately send you for a DOT drug/alcohol test. That's the law. So apparently your manager doesn't understand their job. If you were fired as a result and there was no testing you would have a case for wrongful termination.
Maybe you should sue her for defimation of character!
