I saved her memories.
When I was a teenager, I worked at CVS in the photo lab. This was before smartphones and digital cameras. If you had a roll of film that you took, you brought it over to a lab to get it developed. I know crazy right? Seems so foreign now. Well, a woman had come in to drop off some photos, but in the process of taking out her film earlier that day at home, it was over exposed. She told me this while crying.
It was her daughter's graduation and although it might not seem like a huge deal for some those were her memories. I spent hours after my shift was over trying to undo the damage. I didn't save them all but I did get a few great shots of her with her parents and a couple by herself. I called to the woman to tell her and she came in the very next day. She was so relieved and happy to have some tangible memories of the day. Now YEARS later, no longer in high school, and a mother myself, I know I would want someone to do everything they could to save those memories for me.

Yup I remember the days of film. I also went to CVS because sending them out was a pain. No email then so if the post office lost em there went your photos. It's amazing that you were able to save such an incredible part of someone's life. I am sure she looks back on those photos all the time and is so grateful for you.
