A little fearful of taking the first step to start driving.
I applied and was accepted as a LYFT driver. The first day out I had all kinds of problems trying to connect to the potential rider. Then I went out and bought a GPS and connected it in the car. Removed the security password on my phone so I could connect quicker. Any advice?

If you are doing that , make sure you buy some hidden cameras and place them in the car to record as you work . Also make one of them noticeable as a Durant so that they think twice about robbing you or lingering you . But most of all don't tell any one you pick up about the hidden cameras , those are your life line . Tell a family member only where they were placed and inform them that they can't say anything to any one but emergency services if needed .
Good Luck and congrats

Hope you don't pick up someone who is gonna waste your time & rob/take your $$$$$.There are crooks/criminals our there in the world .Other than that.GET THAT $$$$$...Be careful out there driving for LYFT.

use your smartphone for driving directions the app called waze better than google maps.

Make sure your riders are as comfortable as possible.

Stay Safe

Lyft drivers are courteous and exceptionally skillful in reading maps and knowing their city. Patience and tolerance are required during traffic jams, riders who are drunk, riders who travel to places which appear strange unpave roads, wooded areas, few people. But all in all you can make some cash and build on your entrepreneurships. Going to airports, stadiums, active social spots makes pick ups easier. Good luck and have a great time meeting fun people along the way.

Instead of working days, try late nights and overnights. You can pick up lots of riders at the local bars. My son made $300 in one night driving drunk people home from the bars while driving for Uber. Just invest in some cheap seat covers and carry carpet cleaner in case they puke. I know at least 3 Uber drivers that have had their cars puked in!

Sorry 2 year that I lost 3 brothers mother and father it's hard 2 lose someone u love

I would just say get familiar with the city you're driving in and use your maps as a guide and not rely on it. I do door dash on the side so I don't drive customers and only deliver to them, but learning directions is the same. A lot of people just jump in and make mistakes, but you're being smart by eliminating possible mistakes already asking people here. Good job!
Hmm? You don't have your app linked to Google Maps??? It should have been linked through the Lyft App to Google or even Waze.
I never missed a client as a driver because of Google.
Also, Was the GPS feature turned off in your phone?
