What duties would I need to complete as a Pharmacy Technician?
Suggest that the pharmacist will go over the medication with the patient
Indicate that customers confirming is accurate and total the price of medication purchased
Make sure the patient confirms that the correct medication is what they requested and is correct
Retrieve medication for patient
Confirm status of medication for approval
Obtain their medical card and valid identification
As a technician we do not counsel, that is a duty left for the RPH. We answer phone, count prescriptions, type prescriptions, send refill requests, intake patient information as well as many other tasks- that is a retail setting. Hospital is completely different.
Depends on whether your working in a hospital or pharmacy setting.
