Bathrooms breaks?
Anyone have an employer that’s restrictive with bathroom breaks? Mine is pretty lenient but heard some bad stories out there.

I have been an RN for over 36 years. It astounds me how healthcare workers are supposed to promote the health of others, yet the most basic things like elimination are expected to be put on the back burner. Eventually this becomes not an option or willful choice it must happen or the health of a human being will be compromised! I have had a colleague advise me to “ wear depends and focus on patient care”. Yet administratively this behavior would be considered “ inappropriate “. Any work environment that interferes with this basic and necessary human function is compromising the health and safety of their workers. Enough said from this writer who has passed a few too many kidney stones in her career.

Amazon is probably the worst place that does not allow bathroom breaks, if you have to go they dock your pay. To all of you in the job case family STAY AWAY FROM AMAZON.!!!!!!!

Dental hygienists don’t get any mandated breaks except for lunch. Which means no bathroom breaks if you’re running behind, or even on time, unless a patient is late or doesn’t show. Didn’t use to bother me when I was younger.

Certain security jobs only allow 2 and 30min lumch

Hey if ya got to go ya gotta go. Just sayin..

The only job since 1979 that I had a problem with bathroom breaks was at Management Recruiters , a job placement company in NYC. Because I wasn't crazy about the job, immediately after our morning meeting I would go to the bathroom. After a while my boss noticed and other employees were doing it as well, so he spoke to us. That job only lasted 10 months and I haven't had any problems with any other job. Actually I have a problem of holding it in long after I should go.

I like where you're going with this question James! Bathroom breaks are not considered as part of the mandated or acceptable break periods within most states. So employees should feel free and not threatened by management when they need to use on the job restroom facilities.
Are you familiar with your break time rights?
Unjust break and time off practices are on the rise within in todays labor community as more employers call for higher efficiency and productivity standards. Now might me a good time to freshen up on our break and lunch rules.
Thanks for raising/highlighting this growing employee concern James!
thank you i will keep that in mind about amazon
