Over the past several years my job kept getting worse and worse. If someone was let go or quit they would not replace them they just re-assigned their duties to the ones who were left. We constantly had to do more with less and less. It got to the point where we had half the people we once had and the work never let up. Every year we would get no raises or bonus, but we got great reviews and told how valuable we were. The company was a large one and they kept buying other companies and when the end of the year came they claimed they have nothing to offer, but "good job, and thanks". "Keep up the good work..''team". My Manager played his part and would say anything he had to in order to keep us going, lies, promises, whatever, just to keep us going. I am not a young man anymore but I was at the end of my rope. I could have held on like many and made it through to retirement but I felt I deserved better. I have always been a hard working and loyal employee and they way things are today in the workforce it should be a crime. People are treated like they should be grateful to even have a job, and what they want does not count. The people at the top keep getting richer, they get their bonuses, they get raises but the unwashed masses get nothing. I thought it was that way all over, but I was wrong. I took the chance and floated my resume and it only took a few weeks and I was giving my 2 weeks notice. I prayed and God answered my prayers. I am now with an even bigger company, but they actually care about the employees. I can't believe how nice they are, how genuine they are and how they are concerned about me and my family. WHAT??? There are companies out there who deserve loyal employees like you, there are companies that are successful and give you a piece of the pie. My paycheck comes from my employer but the satisfaction I have in my soul comes from God. Merry Christmas to you all and pray, it works.
