What’s it like working at McDonald’s

There’s a lot of people on this page trying to apply for a job at McDonald’s so I figured I’d shed some light on what it’s like to actually work there. It’s pretty good but a lot of it depends on your manager and coworkers. I’ve worked at a couple diff locations and you want to ask how their turnover is because if they are constantly trying to hire new people it usually can mean the management isn’t so good. I mean it’s fast food so they hire a ton but you gotta use your judgement on that. Anyway the work is fine, manning the register can be really repetitive and boring on slow times but it’s not bad. If you work more than a 5 hr shift you get to eat for free and if you wanna go to school my location just started helping pay for classes which is really nice. Lmk if you have any other questions about it

Some locations you can just text to particular numbers and they will contact you for an interview. Each one has a location number.

Hi Tom, you are exactly right to note that depending on the management team, it could make for or break one's desire to work here. When i was rocking 4 part-time jobs, a McDonald's in my area became one of them. The first day I was paired with a trainer who did nothing of the sort. She had been the trainer for 2 years and I clearly saw the issue on turnover involving her. She would've rather I be motionless aside of her, twirling my thumbs, versus to ask questions. Even the shift manager allowed it. What was more shocking is she even said that being a trainer was her weakness because she wasn't good at explaining but just working her role, in general. My 1st day was my last day.

Cashier at Wendys Restaurant

It's a job. Not bad, pays pretty well/ I worked there for about 5 months about 4 years ago until I went back into travel nursing. My son worked at the same MC'ds as I did. He went to boycotts camp for the summer and when he came back ,he went to apply again and did not get a position.

My son worked at McDonalds during the school year. Went to boyscott camp and when he returned he didn't get rehired, even though they said he could come back.

I don't have a lot to say about my time working for McDonald's. It really depends on the people you actually work with. McDonald's down fall is making ANYONE a manager's over shifts that are too young and unqualified. Had to take orders from a KID with no safeserve qualification. Other than that, as long as everyone show up and carry their weight for the shift, everything runs smoothly
