Feeling a little exposed...
I haven't given notice to my current employer yet because after signing the offer I was told that I would have to complete a background check and drug test. I am not worried about the drug test but after the background check I'm worried they might hold my recent bankruptcy against me. It should be pretty obvious why I had to file. I spent 3.5 years working at less than half my usual salary and was just in too deep. I won't have access to any money though I know for travel, most companies like for you to use your personal credit cards and then be reimbursed and obviously I don't have any now. I don't know, maybe I'm over thinking but after years of let downs I'm too paranoid to give my notice until I know for certain I have the 'all clear' from them on the background check. My target start date is the 18th and they were pushing things so I could give notice next week so I'm hoping to hear something today. Meanwhile, I know my supervisor and manager suspect that I'm about to quit. My manager is giving me the silent treatment and will only speak to me through the supervisor - and we are all in one open room, so I get spoken about like I'm not in the room. I just do not want to give my notice and then have to eat my words...
Hopefully today I will know. Sorry for rambling.

Thanks 😊

Wow! I'm not sure how this old post got revived but re-reading it brought back memories! So, update- I did get the job and am coming up on my 5 year anniversary. It hasn't been all moonbeams and rainbows but I do love it! I have a great boss and I'm planning to stay!

Do what you got to do.

Hi Rhonda, I went through the same with having female bosses. In nursing most supervisor and management are women and I just got laid off and got messes around hr. The senior nurse could come to the office all day and not say hi except when she wanted something. I am glad you aren't a way from it There are companies to help you get back your credit, but can be expensive. Good luck in your new job!

Me myself just went through the same thing, if i was you i would wait till everything comes back cleared. A bankruptcy shouldn't stop you from get the job.
Thanks

Rhonda so excited for you. I would love to stay in touch and know how the next journey is going. my email is changetoday4u@gmail.com.

Glad to hear that you got the job. Congrats! FYI....no manager worth their weight would ever hold it against someone if they are trying to better themselves or their situation. They should be the type of manager that cheers their team on and be a teacher and a leader rather than just a "manager". Remember that if you ever happen to be in the position to manage people. Few people fail to recognize that the abilities of their team reflect back on them, a great and happy team is the product of a great manager. In your remaining days with your current company, work out your notice with grace and skill, be able to walk away with your head held high and a smile on your face. Good luck and happy times with your new job.

I fully understand. I probably would do the same thing too. The one advice I can offer and I hope you will not get offended is prayer. That is the best thing in the world and the only thing that I know is for sure. As for the Manager's disposition (I totally understand that as well) just let it be what it is and handle yourself professionally at all times and either they will come around or not. If they were true professionals they should be appreciative of your service and be happy that you are progressing. I'm praying that you get the new job. God Bless! I appologize for rambling.
