How can I better myself financially?
I'm taking care of my mother and my girlfriend as well as her 7 year old I am striving to better myself financially . I'm currently working at pizza hut at 2337 N Chester Ave. The area is considered a poor area and being a driver there is hard. Hardly anybody tips me and there's crazy people all over. I am barely able to afford gas to replace what I used after working a shift and I really want to get out of that area.

Joey your position is very difficult. However after thinking and looking at your profile you've got two difficult choices. Stay in your current position and struggle, or enter the military. If you go into the military your mother would be your dependent. You'll be paid very well, benefits and health care. Travel and government housing on base. You'll get the chance to improve your current condition. Understand that there's nothing in this for your girlfriend. She's no where in this. Your mom is direct blood so she counts. But it's your choice now. Take your mom and go Air Force, Navy, Army, but your girlfriend and her 7 yr old won't be there.... Sorry about the reality, but this is real life....

Hey Joey, You sound like a young man with a strong conviction to move yourself and family forward. I applaud you!!! The key to reaching your goal is all about developing more skills.
The traditional approach to gain training and skill is via the college track but there's a new revolution of "New Collar" jobs being created everyday where applicants can qualify by learning skills through short term online courses or on the job training (apprenticeships). It's all about strategy and steps.
I took a look at your profile to get a better understanding on your work background but noticed the information you have uploaded is minimal. Do you have a current resume you can upload? Check out the links below with more info to get you started. Remember, reaching your goal is going to take a little time and a whole lot of effort on your part so stay positive, focused, and find a mentor!

Hi Joey: One of the best ways to make more money is to take this approach: talk to your manager about potentially getting a raise, and at the same time, look for new work. If your manager doesn’t give you the raise, you can always see if you make more with another employer. Remember to show proof why you’re worth the raise. Talk about how successful you’ve been and how you’ve helped the company grow!
I know this would be hard but have you thought about the Electrical field? I know a lot of companies around my area..[it's rural and low income.] that train you [from no experience] then your sent around the US for weeks at a time doing various jobs, long hours etc...but its good money and you would have a trade under your belt. Perhaps temporary until financially stable or you have enough experience to get a non-travel position. I understand your situation and sometimes you have to stretch it out of your comfort zone stay positive, good luck with your search.
