Not letting my frustrations get the better of me. I know that I will be able to get hired some place. I'm getting plenty of support and encouragement from both my friends and also my roommate which is a HUGE plus. Just keep trying and never give up on looking because there is a job out there for everyone.

Hmm, my unemployment was by my choice as I was having too many health issues that was keeping me form doing anything productive. So, in that time, I completed my Master's degree for further advancement when I was healthier. That day still has not come, but in the meantime, I have done the following:

  • Spent major quality time with my daughter who will be 13 next week.
  • Became more in tune with my family, both immediate and extended.
  • Allowed myself to give my body and soul a break so I could heal.
  • Took the time to really identify in myself my true strengths and weakness both professional and personal.
  • Learned to laugh at myself, and ease up on trying to do everything perfect.
  • Searched my soul.
  • Started doing the things on my bucket list within reason.. lol
  • Just became a better listener instead of a doer all the time.
  • Reflected on all my fondest memories with family and reconnected with long lost friends.
  • Rediscovered my true friendship with my husband of 26 years next month.
  • Just relearned how to embrace life with all it's beauty as well as difficulties.
  • Learned to enjoy myself, and not always look like I am troubled -- Smile and sing again... These are just a few of the really important things I have done while being unemployed.all without costing a dime other than the MBA........

Be introspective, learn a new recipe, skill, or hobby. Read up and learn all you can about something that you love or something that fsscinstes you. Meet a new friend and teach them about your new skill. Grow something. Try basil and eat it with corn on the cob, potatoes, omelets, on fruits and fresh vegetables. It is delicious, good for you and makes you happy. Also, wake up each day and pursue happiness, contentment and kindness in the best way you can.

I think it’s a good time to reflect on past experiences and possibly identify another career choice. Also get back into the gym or establish a regular workout routine that I can maintain when I begin working again. Time management is key!!
