Stay Encouraged
Hello, all I am a 37yr old single mother of one. I moved from Florida to Georgia in 2008. After the loss of my son 2007. I decided to have at a fresh start, after working as a teacher aid for four years. Transitioning to GA was easy to do! However, finding adequate employment to sustain us was a difficult task. No matter what! I decided to remain positive and surround myself with nothing but, positive people. After being turned down from many opportunities. I decided to make some changes and the first thing I did was enrolled myself in college. I'm saying all of this to say, that I have obtained my bachelors in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University with a concentration in legal studies. Do not give up! Continue to be resilient with perusing your goals! Remain positive! And only surround yourself with positive people! I hope my story encourages you to push on! Xoxo

Karen, I have a very similar story to yours. Same age as you, single mother, left a volatile relationship and went back to school. I put all my focus on school and my daughter. I managed to come to peace with her father and graduated with high honors. Sadly, he passed away in a very tragic accident right after my graduation, and I had some issues at work with having the time off to grieve and set my daughters affairs in order from his estate. I had to make the difficult decision to leave my company, whom I was with for over 3 years, to take the leap of faith and find something in my new field. Resiliance is completely correct...it took about 4 months and a lot of soul-searching, but I finally landed a job not only making more than I thought I would be able to, they also recruited my best friend from my prior job. Sometimes, just as we feel like giving up or think things will never change is when we have to push back the hardest. Congratulations to you, keep up the good work, and good luck in your future endeavors!

Thank you! Your message is very hopeful. And congratulations on a job well done. It's no small accomplishment to go back to college later on in life, with a child, and to do it in spite of your great loss. I can't even imagine. You are an inspiration to everyone who reads your letter. Keep up those positive vibes.

Love the story.. Congratulations to you for staying positive.

Karen,
Thank you so very much for these inspiring words. I too am where you are at ... well at least in age, and I was a mother for brief but blessing time until I lost my child. Nonetheless, I continue to aspire to be driven like you and never give up. I taught for quite some time too, until I decided to reinvent myself, and go back to my love of photography and videography as a self-employed photographer and camera woman. You can see my work at www.throoureyes.org.
Thank you again for such warm, uplifting, and revitalizing words. Arigato gozaimasu!

What a great achievement you accomplished, I graduated at age 50 with an bachelors in Computer Science it was not always easy, but it paid of big time. I had a great jobs for the last 9 years. Wishing you the best for your future.

You are young, you have much life to live. I'm proud that you went back to school. I am fifty nine years old. Going back to school is something I encourage anyone to do. That will always be my regret in life, that I didn't further my education. Having a degree is something no one can take from you. May GOD bless and keep you in your life ahead.

Thank you so much for your inspiring and encouraging story. You have no idea how many people you give the strength to try again.
God Bless you
Karen, I believe this is the true purpose of social media. To share and positively encourage others! Thank you for sharing. God Bless you, what a legacy for your family!
