Unfair treatment
I was working there a temp agency and was told my assignment ended due to not meeting my numbers. Upon trying to get unemployment they are not allowing me to qualify. Was told I had to call one a week. I did but at another office per the agency's instructions due to I am looking foe employment in the city not suburbs. Instead of them telling unemployment I was with another office the response with I am not calling them. I live alone I am the only source of income I am months behind on bills and this temp agency is treating me this way. Still calling the agency they have a new approach. They offer me a assignment in the suburbs knowing I have no transportation and I requested assignments in the city. Of course unemployment is saying I am refusing jobs. This added stress is wrong and makes it hard for me to keep a positive attitude in looking for a job. I cry and pray in the mean time I have no money for food , transportation, bills, rent. I fight how I feel to keep from falling into a deep depression. By me being 57 years old looking for work is hard enough. Having to deal with this unfair treatment is not making things better.

You can sign up with as many Temp. Agencys as you want. I would recommend that, don't put all your eggs in one basket, so to speak. That way, all the agencies are working for you to help find work. One agency might treat you better.
Unfirtunately, when you collect unemployment, you must accept any work they offer you. Or they can cut you off. It is the law, I think. I went through a similar situation years ago.
Keep looking, good luck.

I understand they are offering you employment in the suburbs, can you get a ride? Only other alternative is to try another Temp agency and let them know due to your circumstance you can only work in the city, unless you can take that job in the suburb and by the grace of God get into a carpool. Pray and don't worry. Where there's a will there's a way.

With God all things are possible, yes I worked 28 1/2 years for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and for the Federal government from the age of 15 and I work part-time now. If I choose to I can go back to coll college and have my own business or choose a different career, tomorrow's not promised to anyone and no I am not sitting and waiting for social security; God willing it will come I worked for it and am entitled to it, keep your head up all those that.are struggling, and put your faith and trust in God Almighty; I raised 2 kids and their doing excellent.

Is this temp agency called Manpower? I'm going through something similar. I have been calling unemployment for 2 weeks now, haven't even got a letter from unemployment yet. Or even a phone call from them yet which is very unusual. So I went and applied for food stamps a week and a half ago, and the counselor there told me I was still active under Manpower! And that made me question to myself, then why haven't they called me and given me an assignment to go to work? Now I'm thinking why hasn't unemployment sit me a letter telling me that I am still active under Manpower? What the hell am I doing wrong? Today's Sunday, I will call unemployment again tomorrow but then it's harder than hell to talk to a human being when you call the unemployment number.

Anita: Try another temp agency. Don't give up. Lean and depend on GOD he will lead you. Please keep the faith.

You need to have an unemployment hearing and if that is where they turned you down then ask for an appeal. If the hearing or appeal is over the phone make sure you are on that call at that time. The temp agency is doing this on purpose because it's easier for them. I'm sure you are not the only one. Go to the Better Business bureaus (BBB) website and write a complaint. They make things happen. Don't stop fighting for what is right and advocate for yourself because your worth it. Also, contact the DSS for help buying food and healthcare. I wish you the best.

Look in Lowe's. See if there is one close to your home or where a bus can take you. They pay extremely well to people with zero experience. They also work off your availability and many older employees work there as sales associates (which is helping people find products) and cashier's. They also work to make sure you don't lose any retirement or SSI if you are currently getting something along those lines. They also provide training so don't become overwhelmed thinking you won't know anything. They have full benefits. Even if it just says seasonal employee. Still apply. They hire seasonal employees to full time if you show you want to work and have a positive attitude. You apply online at Lowe's. Com at the botton of the home page it has careers. Hope this will help.

Stay positive, focused as hard as it may be but thats the only way you can get through this. Get away from bullshit temp agencies, try state run employment services. You didn't say what state you live in ( almost all states have them as they don't want to support people with welfare programs if they don't have to ). Good luck and don't give up . Ask God for help through prayer he can open doors that no one else can.

Your job hopping is going to be a problem. Pick the area of your past employment you did the best and apply to every similar opening.
