Trying to Get a Summer Job = A Struggle

I am a nearly 17 yr-old Junior in High-School and have been applying to jobs for nearly a month now. I haven't gotten any notifications from any of the employers except the ones who are definitely not interested, and I am wondering what I can do better. I already have previous job experience as a Childcare Assistant, I am pretty involved in school activities, I participate in extracurricular programs, and I have a pretty good idea of what I am going to study in college. If anyone can give me any advice on what else I can do to better my application experience, I would be more than open to any suggestions that you may have! Thank you.

Have you thought about working as an au pair (AKA mother's helper)? It wouldn't just be babysitting here and there, it would be steady work helping out with the kids. I've done this kind of work a long time ago when I was younger and loved it. You might need to ask around to see who might need an au pair but with your existing experience you'd be perfect!
