If you're sick, do you go into work?
Does anyone else ever struggle with deciding whether or not to go into work if you are only dealing with only a small cold? I'm all about not getting everyone at work sick but I was raised by a family where you went to work unless you couldn't get out of bed. My parents owned a restaurant so there was no such thing as sick leave for them

Yes John! I still struggle with this, especially with the corona virus re-enforcing if you are sick stay home. I'm especially having a hard time knowing when to keep my kids home right now. We all have very standard colds, runny nose, sneezing, some cough but no fever. Typically without a fever we bring some kleenex and maybe some cold meds and power through, but now...not so sure.
Hi John. I was raised by parents who came from large farm families AND they both grew up during the depression. I have gone to work sick many times. I went to work even when it would have made sense to stay home. My house was broken in to at 4 a.m. I dropped my daughter off at school & was at work by 8. Made calls & had my house & car re-keyed on lunch. I went to work the day I put my dog down but allowed my daughter to miss school. I've always regretted that - I should've stayed home with her. I went to work the day after a serious car accident. My mother was driving & hit a kid in a bicycle, breaking almost every bone in his body & I went to work the day after a girlfriend of mine died tragically. I went to work b/c I was the sole support of my daughter. No, her father was not involved in her life & you can't take care of a child if you don't take care of your job. Thankfully today more companies are more accepting & understand things happen. So b/c of my girl & the way I was raised, I did work at times when I could have stayed home & I did work when I was sick.
