Job dilemma decision. Please help!!

I'm currently working as a temp making 12.00 per hour. Within 6 months maybe 3 or 4 I will be hired on full time. At which time my rate will immediately jump to 22.80 per hour. My hours are midnight-8am

I've also been offered a full time permanent direct hire job as a machine operator. Pay starts at 17.17 per hour with the potential for pay increases. I will have benefits, and all the other perks that go along with being a perm. Employee. The hours are 7am-3pm with possibility of swing shift to 3 pm- 11pm I hate getting up early!

My dilemma is do I stay and stick it out at the temp job and risk losing my car, my apt, and paying my bills whenever I can waiting to get hired or do I take the permanent job. I should mention I'm already on the verge of eviction and 2 car payments past due and my cell got shut off. Everyone is working with me but living on 12.00 an hour is crazy!!

Any and all advice will be taken. Thank you Audrey.

I would see if I could work both job's at least to start off and see how it goes, that way you're bringing home two check's and you might surprise yourself and work both job's until you're temp job want to hire you on in which you will already have your permanent job with 3 to 4 month's under your belt already...

I agree with everyone else. You were offered a perm position with benefits and pay increase... take it even tho it doesn't offer your preferred shift. Your body will adjust to the new schedule and you will learn to be up early. I would accept the new job and give yourself a couple of days to get on the new schedule - going to bed earlier and waking up at 5-6am to be at work by 7 am. The fact that this job will allow you to provide for yourself and have medical coverage will be one incentive to try. Good Luck

I just thought of something why not work both jobs, until you get yourself settled, then when you are caught up on your bills quit the job you like the least, take plenty of vitamins because you are going to need the energy.

You already know the answer, that Temp job can lay you off tomorrow without batting an eye, besides you need more money now.

Take the direct hire...I have had my share of temp jobs...key word "temp" no guarantee of hire...hoping all go well with your situation.

Hi. I would take the permanent position. You will learn to get up early. Make sure you have the offer in writing before you quit your other job. Many times they state you have the job and then you don't hear from them. Good luck in all you do.

Hi, Audrey. If you're already in dire straights I would suggest taking the permanent job that offers you a more livable wage now, rather than risking all for something a little less certain. Best of luck, whatever you decide!

If I were you, I'd take the permanent job with all the perks and benefits. It's difficult enough to find a good paying job with benefits so it sounds like it's just what you need.
