What my dad always taught me and what I always do is when I go in to an interview. I have a major portfolio of the equipment I worked on all the way from electrical to electronics and the equipment. I also have letters from companies that I work for with an excellent resume. It also depends on how you carry yourself. Whether you act like a robot or you act like you. The way this world is now you have to act like a robot screw that be you. That depends on you though. But like I said, when I go to an interview I bring a major portfolio letters from companies and an excellent resume. Just don't kiss ass. Be honest, be upfront and just answer the questions but also ask questions in my major thing. Look for red flags. That is the biggest thing. Good luck!
