I only have retail experience and I'm trying to go for a clerical/receptionist position.

Has anyone made this switch? It's so hard. Trying to prove myself through a cover letter and resume doesn't seem like it's working.

Any tips on maybe what to add to my resume? Or what types of businesses are more likely to hire an entry level; medical, law, construction?
