Best way to respond to why I left my last job?!
I was fired from my previous job for "unethical misconduct. " I appealed this (to receive unemployment $) & won because employer could not provide any proof to support their claim. What is the best way to respond when being interviewed and asked why I'm no longer at that business?

This is a horrible idea. Employers can find /verify your work history. Mostly what they need from you is what you did at those jobs and why you left. Not mentioning a job you know you had is liable to make any potential employers ignore your application. Don’t do this. Never lie in an interview process. A lie of omission is still a lie.

I would not even mention the job if possible. In my case I really can't omit the job because a lot of the work I did white with them is the nicest and most recent work. I'm my case (creative job by nature) I simply tell the truth and keep it short. I even try to find something good about my time there. If they are not going to hire me because I didn't mention it, they will damn sure fire me for having lied about it.... The only real bad separation I have had came my way because the owner did everything he could to not honor our agreement. I had a base salary and a bonus structure that paid XX number of dollars per hour that I was working on client projects. It as explained to me that bonuses would be paid out quarterly, or at least really close to that. After the first year not seeing any bonuses I asked about the bonuses.... I was told that I get my bonus after the client has settled the bill for that project? Ald a lot of what I had done in this last year was all buddy buddy stuff for his friends. I responded by pointing out that while these were buddy jobs, he was the buddy, and I was not. These clients had paid to be in the edit suite and work with me as booked time. Therefore I was due the bonus hours that had been agreed on. He finally, and very disgruntledly payoffs "some" of the bonus and reassured me that the rest would be on the next bonus check. When there wasn't a next check, I was told that he had decided to discontinue all bonuses because things were "Tight".After I had turned in two weeks notice, and served out my responsibility I was told that my last check was ready for me to pick up.As you prolly can guess there was no Ballance of Bonus or even mention of bonus. When I asked about the balance of my bonus I was told that I had Quit... "You don't get bonuses after you quit....." Even as I tried to get him to pay me the rest, and no he never did, Over the next 3 to 4 years, I sent him only about $50k of work for his studio because he had what my current client needed and had a good price. Still not budging on the rest of my money 13 years on, I still send him work, when they need it.

To avoid this bad situations, i delete this kind of job from my resume!!!! I was lucky, nobody noticed. Life goes on. We had our mistakes and were treated unfairly in other situation. Nobody is perfect. Forget and continue living...

Each word has 2 means look at a dictionary.

smile a lot when responding.....

The best way to respond Mechelle Smith is by remaining positive, being honest, and keeping it short and sweet. No drama necessary! Good luck.
You be honest and tell them what happened from your p.o.v. and you did appeal and won unemployment. Don't lie about it and just remain calm. You know that question will be coming.
