Job Fairs
Has anyone ever gotten a professional job from a job fair? I never have, and 99 percent of the time I never hear back from the companies I talk to. IMO, they're a big waste of time. Nothing more than a day out of the office for the H.R. person. You're better off spending that time knocking on doors and networking.

Hi Carl Fowler - are you sure you are approaching the job fair right? While I have not personally gotten a job from a job fair, I know man people who have. Additionally, I have gone on several interviews from connections set up by job fairs and gone into the final rounds on those interviews..

I landed my very first job after college from a contact I made at a job fair. Job Fairs are similar to speed dating. You only get a few, very short minutes, to establish a mutual connection. As a job seeker your goal is to be memorable and follow up is essential.
