Thinking Safety First
I’m thinking about applying for a 3rd shift Cashier position at Love's which is a 24hr truck stop, convenience store, and restaurant but I’m concerned about safety. Anyone have experience working at a convenience store or gas station overnight? How safe is it?

There's a TA station not to far from where I live and I always see plenty employees in the store. It also has a 24 hour restaurant next door that's always busy. I'm sure management has safety protocols in place for day and night shift. Ask them about it if you get to interview.

I've been at jobs with late hours and low staffing volume. If there's surveillance I wouldn't be so concerned, also if it's in a populated area, It does get scary when you're alone. and we've also got to keep in mind things do happen, like Jessica herringa for instance. I would see how they feel about having a gun on you or some kind of safety tactic, ( pepper spray, a knife, or a small bat incase you ever were concerned for your safety,
