I have felony convictions over 20 yrs old. Only one that was considered violent where I got drunk wrecked my car, walked a few blocks got in the passenger seat of a parked car and fell asleep. The owner came out to go to work the next morning opened the door saw me, I woke startled he asked what I wanted, I told him the keys he had in his hand and he threw them in the car and ran off. I drove his car a couple blocks away and called a cab. Turns out he was a federal prosecutor. They gave me a violent 25 for Robbery and I did 21years because he protested my parole every time and i had to discharge because he was somebody. When that happened I was a full time college student and myself and my brother had 3 framing crews running and were set for expansion. I'm not defending what I did. I just want to be able to support myself. I Took then taught construction technology Vo-tech inside as well as teaching A.B.E., Adult education and G.E.D. I always worked for maintenance or construction jobs and had designed and built multiple structures within the D.O.C. as far as OJT I never skipped a beat. I can do framing, roofing, siding, all interior and exterior finishes, electrical rough-in and maintenance, Plumbing rough in and maintenance, some HVAC,appliance repair ect... I'm the hardest worker I know and guess what, I actually believe in the need for law enforcement and being held accountable for not being community minded. I just want to work. I'm 47 years old and in good physical condition. I work harder and know more then most guys half my age. I'm at my wits end. Ill move anywhere I just want to build and be treated decently. Ill do construction, maintenance, electrical any building trades and I promise anybody that gives me a shot wont be disappointed and I'm loyal as a puppy dog, sometimes too honest and completely non-violent in nature. Anybody have any ideals, The wolves are at the door and I'm at my wits end

Brent- same here!!!!! I, too, am an ex-felon. 5 yrs. for vehicular manslaughter. I found a job with a local person up here in Ohio, and I love it!!!!!! We do yard maintenance!!!!!!!!! You know, mowing, edging, tree-trimming- which I thought I would NEVER find, only because I'm now without a license and probably will never have back!!!!!!!!!! So, keep the faith-don't ever doubt yourself- you'll find something (or someone) willing to give you a shot. Keep your head up my friend, you have nothing to be ashamed about!!!!!!!!!!!!!
