I dont know what else to do
ive been trying to find a job for months, ive signed up to over 35 jobs (in my city or in a city near by) and not one called to set up an interview, im slowly losing hope... if i had to assume why no one has ever contacted me back its probably because their inconsiderate or because of my age.. i was considering to lie about my age on a job applications but i was to afraid to, but now im gradually starting to regret it.
Hi Sammi, Don't get discouraged and definitely do not lie on your resume or a job application. What your experiencing is not uncommon to job seekers of all ages and career level backgrounds. I’m going to assume that your reference to ‘signed up’ means you’ve applied to over 35 jobs online with no response. Well, chances are no one’s in charge of hiring at those 35+ companies haven’t even seen your resume yet. Online applications are pre-qualified via an automated system that selects candidates based on application optimization. Your applications will not be selected if it does not have the proper keywords and phrases listed on the job description.
Following up after submitting your application is also an important step towards getting hired. Keep in mind that not all companies accept phone calls or walk-in follow-up from applicants. Go back to those companies career sites and look for the frequently asked questions page for specific details on the application and hiring process then follow those instructions to the letter.

i cant believe ive wasted so much time
Sammi I can walk in your shoes. I've been active trying to get a job. I'm 68 and active, and I'm told do not look my age. I finally landed one this week. It seems like forever, but it's just part of the process. Keep on with confidence, and a little suggestion, go out and get something to wear that makes you feel confident. If you feel confident it shows and that's what a interviewer wants to see. SO SMILE ! !
