Confused about Job offer
I interviewed for a home health position with a assisted living facility in central Florida went thru background check, drug screen etc. And completed classroom training. I was told that am hired and they will call me to begin on the job training and has been a week. I called and was told that would get a call to begin on-job training . I successfully completed the classroom training but still have not received call for on job training after one week.Should I be concerned? Is this the new normal? Can someone please advise. Thank you

I think the problem here is that they are in rush to hire. There is no urgency since they are employed and making money. They did the exact same thing to me. I applied as a Career Technical Education Substitute Teacher and they ask me to get my livescan. I did, and they said they would be in touch. This happened on April 2019. The new school year started and no phone call or email. I called and they said they would get in touch with the person in charge. Again, another week went by and nothing. Finally, I decided to email them and the receptionist said that she spoke to the person in charge and she told her that either she would call me or the director. Here we are in September and still nothing.

I would wait a couple of days then call again. They wouldn't pay for the classroom training if you weren't already hired. It's possible that they don't have the arrangements needed for your on the job training set up yet. People drop the ball all the time. You just have to make sure they know you are available and just waiting on them.

Pray. God will show you whether to stand still or move on

Were you paid for this training?

Unfortunately, this is the new norm. It takes 3 months these days the go through the interview process and to receive a start date

Patience is key here... did you sign a job offer for pay? That would be what I would want to know. If you did then your good. If you didn’t then, have you been paid or do you know what the pay is? Sometimes places have back to back training going on and don’t have enough room for the class you may be in, hence the delay. If I signed a job offer and had paperwork for the position I wouldn’t be worried, if I hadn’t however received these things then your really at a loss here waiting to see what happens next. I know some places can be disorganized and such but when you freak out or call a bunch it really doesn’t help.

Give it time-a couple of months at least. It's too soon to jump to the wrong conclusions. If after another week, you still feel puzzled by it all, then call back.

Applied for a job in March finished all that was required gave me paper work as if I was getting a job in 2 to 3 weeks called in June left voice message then in August sent me an email to start mandatory training last week of AUGUST what a wait mind you still not a job just training

There may be a couple issues. 1st is this a contract position or are you an employee? The next and probably the most important issue is what you have in writing. Right now you should try to open positive dialogue with the company assuring them that you are anxious to get to work would appreciate any update regarding when you will start.
It's normal. They will have to match you with a.client and sometimes that takes a.little time to finalize. Remember, this.is an on the.job training, so you will probably be working along with a trainer until your otj training is completed. One week is not unusual, if you dont hear from the company by the middle of next week give.them a call to see if there is anything that needs to be completed before you do your otj training. Have you turned in all your paperwork? Did you fill out your I-9 and show ID and social security card or other requirements? If you have, then there shouldn't be any reason for the delay other than the normal scheduling delays. Good luck, stop worrying. You'll be fine.
